TC2000 looks inexpensive at first glance, but choosing the wrong tier can mean either paying for tools you never use or missing the very features that make the platform worth buying.
I have used TC2000 for more than 20 years, and after testing its charting, scanning, alerts, options tools and brokerage integration, I think there is one clear sweet spot: Premium is the best plan for most active traders.
Premium+ is extremely powerful, but unless you need constantly refreshing scans, Market-Pulse indicators and hundreds of alerts, you can save a considerable amount by staying one tier lower.
TC2000 Pricing at a Glance
TC2000 now has three main paid plans: Basic, Premium and Premium+.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual Effective Rate | 2-Year Effective Rate | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $24.99 | ~$20.82/mo | ~$18.74/mo | Beginners |
| Premium | $49.99 | ~$41.65/mo | ~$37.49/mo | Most active traders |
| Premium+ | $99.99 | ~$83.32/mo | ~$74.99/mo | Day traders & power users |
Annual billing effectively gives you around two months free, while the two-year plan reduces the effective price by approximately 25%.
Importantly, real-time U.S. stock data from Nasdaq Basic is now included with all paid plans. That makes current TC2000 pricing better value than it appears in some older reviews.
Basic: Cheap, But I Would Skip It
TC2000 Basic costs $24.99 per month.
You get real-time U.S. stocks, stock and options charting, streaming watchlists, customizable layouts, financial news and paper trading.
For a beginner learning technical analysis, that is a respectable package.
The problem is what Basic leaves out.
You do not get the advanced EasyScan functionality, Personal Criteria Formulas, drawing tools, sophisticated real-time scanning or the stronger alert system that makes TC2000 particularly useful.
If you simply want charts, there are cheaper alternatives.
For that reason, I would treat Basic as a learning tier rather than the best-value TC2000 subscription.
Premium: My Recommended TC2000 Plan
Premium costs $49.99 month-to-month, approximately $41.65 per month annually, or around $37.49 per month on a two-year subscription.
This is where TC2000 becomes a serious trading platform.
Premium adds:
- Real-time stock scanning and sorting
- EasyScan
- Personal Criteria Formulas
- Technical and fundamental screening
- 100 simultaneous alerts
- Drawing tools
- Multi-monitor support
- Historical scan columns
- Pre-market activity tools
- Trending-stock monitoring
You can combine fundamental factors such as earnings growth with technical conditions such as moving-average breakouts, volume surges or momentum signals.
That combination is one of TC2000’s biggest strengths.
In my independent 58-point testing, TC2000 scored 4.32/5 for scanning performance, while its overall lab score was 4.30/5. It also earned 5.00/5 for support infrastructure, which is unusually strong for trading software.
For swing traders, position traders and most active stock traders, Premium is the plan I would buy.
Premium+: Best for Serious Day Traders
Premium+ costs $99.99 monthly, dropping to roughly $83.32 per month annually or $74.99 per month with a two-year commitment.
It includes everything in Premium but adds:
- Live auto-refreshing scans
- Real-time Market-Pulse gauges
- Historical Market-Pulse indicators
- Intraday performance columns
- Historical point-in-time filtering
- Custom market indexes
- Up to 1,000 alerts
The critical difference is continuous real-time scanning.
If you run multiple intraday screens and want your results updating automatically throughout the session, Premium+ makes sense.
For an investor checking markets occasionally, it is excessive.
For an active day trader scanning thousands of U.S. stocks in real time, Premium+ can be worth the extra cost.
Watch the Optional Data Costs
The good news is that basic real-time U.S. stock data is now included.
However, some feeds still cost extra.
Current optional prices include:
- Real-time U.S. indexes: $9.99/month
- Real-time U.S. options: $9.99/month
- Consolidated Tape: $14.99/month
- Dow Jones real-time data: $2.50/month
So an options trader may pay more than the headline subscription price.
That distinction is important when comparing TC2000 with TradingView, TrendSpider or other platforms.
How to Save Money on TC2000
The easiest saving is the two-year subscription, which reduces the effective monthly cost by roughly 25%.
For Premium:
$49.99 monthly → approximately $37.49/month biennially.
That saves roughly $150 per year compared with paying monthly.
I would not commit for two years immediately, however. TC2000 offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for qualifying new or returning customers, so I would first make sure the platform fits your workflow.
There is another unusually valuable discount for active traders.
TC2000 Brokerage customers can receive a $25 software discount for every month they make a trade or maintain more than $30,000 in account value. That potentially reduces software costs by as much as $300 per year.
For someone already planning to use TC2000 Brokerage, that can materially change the economics.
Which TC2000 Plan Should You Choose?
Beginner learning charts: Basic
Swing trader: Premium
Options trader: Premium, plus real-time options data if required
Active day trader: Premium+
Heavy scanner and alert user: Premium+
TC2000 Brokerage customer: Consider Premium+ because the brokerage discount can offset much of the additional cost
For most people, Premium is the sweet spot.
At around $42 per month on an annual subscription, it unlocks the scanning, formulas, alerts and technical-analysis workflow that distinguish TC2000 from basic charting software.
Premium+ is excellent, but I would only pay twice as much if real-time auto-refreshing scans and 1,000 alerts genuinely contribute to my trading process.
