I performed a backtest of the Ichimoku Cloud strategy on the DJ-30 Index stocks over a 20-year period, equating to 600 years of data and 15,024 trades.
The results of the Ichimoku test revealed a disappointing 10% win rate. The indicator underperformed a buy-and-hold strategy 90% of the time, making it an ineffective choice for traders.
