How to Trade Point & Figure Charts & Free Tools To Use

Point-and-figure (P&F) charts are unique because they don’t include a timeline along the bottom axis. Instead, they focus solely on price swings. The vertical axis is arithmetic, showing only price units. An O is added when the price drops by a full unit, such as 50 cents. When the price reverses and moves up, an X is placed in each box. This method filters out minor fluctuations, making it easier to focus on trend quality. Trendlines are always drawn horizontally or at 45-degree angles.
